Each year, the Show brings together more than 100 U.S. and international artisans and dealers, including a number of I.G.M.A. Artisans and Fellows. They offer collectors unique, well-crafted 1-inch, 1/2-inch, and 1/4-inch scale miniatures from around the world.

Geoff Wonnacott: Two GSAM "Furniture Workshops"

On Monday, October 14 through Wednesday, October 16, IGMA Fellow Geoff Wonnacott will offer a workshop to construct a French Transitional Louis XV-XVI Bureau (c1774). Workshop participants will learn how to build the desk from a prepared cutting list of timbers and veneers. They will be taught how to cut and shape the cabriole legs, assemble and fit the drawers, apply parquetry, and do cross banding. Students will also prepare and fit fine brass gallery, add brass mounts and authentic hardware.

On Thursday and Friday, October 17 and 18,  Geoff Wonnacott will offer a two-day workshop to construct a George III Chippendale Silver Table.

Class participants will learn how to construct the table from a prepared cutting list of timber. They will cut the pierced gallery and brackets on a fretsaw or scroll saw. Students will be taught how to reed the legs (a series of rounded ridges or groves cut vertically). They will learn how to do mitre beading around the rail and apply the finish.
