At the Show - Handcrafted Rugs

Sarah Anne Evans, Strawberry Creek Designs, has been a dealer at Good Sam for three years. An IGMA Fellow, she specializes in hand-braided, hand-laced, hooked (Russian punch needle), petit point rugs on fine silk gauze, and other needlework items. The rugs shown here are 1:12 scale. At the Show - Exhibits

This week's exhibit "Cypress and Fog" in the Arts and Crafts Style (Craftsman Style in the U.S., 1910-1925) is from the 2011 Good Sam Show. The photos are courtesy of Connie Sauve.

The room box was offered as a Good Sam Show Workshop in 2010. The class was taught by the Guys from Texas (Larry Osborn and Jon Fish). It has a panoramic view of the foggy Northern California coast. Cypress trees perched high atop the rugged cliffs of Carmel-by-the-Sea overlook the Pacific Ocean.  While the room box was made in the 2010 Workshop, the exhibitor's name is unknown.

From Manhattan, internationally acclaimed master artist Natasha Beshenkovsky is new to Good Sam this year. Applying her own style, she creates compelling fine art with a touch of magic. She is also an IGMA Artisan. Most of her work is 1:12 scale, a few pieces are half-inch scale. Others are small and would best be described as "no-scale". She accepts commissions. Along with her husband, IGMA Fellow Michele Carter was a regular at Good Sam for many years prior to their move to East Coast in 2011. Along with his wife, Dan Worsham, PepperWood Miniatures, was a regular at Good Sam for many years prior to moving to New Hampshire in 2011. An IGMA Artisan, Dan will be bringing his fine art miniature paintings. Most of his work shown here is in the Orientalist style, along with a couple of French landscapes.
