At the Show - Exhibits

There were more than eighty exhibits at this year's Good Sam Show from individual exhibitors and four local miniature groups.  These groups are the Mini Cals, The Mini Attics Club, the south Bay Munchkins, and the Santa Cruz Miniature Guild. Originality and creativity abounded. Scales ranged from 1:12 scale down to 1:144 scale. We will be sharing many of the exhibits with you over the next several months. Special thanks to everyone who brought their miniature displays to share with show attendees.

1920's Log Cabin by Larry Herman, Walnut Creek, CA. "I have been making miniature scenes since 1982," Larry says, "and decided I wanted to do a rustic L.L. Bean type of log cabin." Charming rustic interior consists of a living room with vaulted ceiling and kitchen on the lower level, with a loft bedroom on the second level.

The two story fireplace with wood mantle utilizes stones Larry collected in his yard.

The delightful rustic spiral staircase kit is by Don Lorenzen. The lobster trap modified to be a coffee table was made by Amy Robinson. The Hudson Bay blanket hanging on the upper balcony rail is by IGMA Fellow Lucy Iducovich.

Larry made the wagon wheel chandelier and incorporated lots of other details into the interior of the Log Cabin.

The hand-painted rustic desk and  handmade log bed are from William Helton.

The whimsical painted kitchen hutch is by Robin Betterley. 

"I modified the cabinet behind the table and chairs to look like the hoosier we have in our own kitchen," Larry says.
