Article on the Good Sam Academy (GSAM)
There is an excellent article in American Miniaturist introducing the six outstanding teachers at this year's Good Sam Academy (GSAM). See the July 2013 issue #123, pages 56-64. It provides background information on each instructor and includes photos of additional work. The write-up also speaks to the techniques the artisans will be teaching in their classes. All were asked "What do you find to be the most rewarding aspects of offering workshops?" Clearly, they all love to share their knowledge and skills with students.

At the Show - International Painter
An internationally acclaimed painter, Johannes Landman has attended Good Sam since 2009. Born in the Netherlands, he later lived in Spain, and now resides Victoria, British Columbia. A gifted artist, Johannes paints across a wide range of subject matter which he reinterprets in his own style. The Kansas City Toy & Miniature Museum is home to a large collection of his exquisite paintings. One of the museum's highlighted pieces is a fully-functioning miniature harpsichord that Johannes both carved and painted. Don't miss his table at this year's show. jilandman@telus.net
